By the way — IMHO the National Guild of Hypnotists is the only affiliation and certification worth having. More isn’t better. As aren’t the unaccredited initials “Dr.” or “Ph.D.” in hypnotism or hypnotherapy attached to some hypnotists' names. Know this fact—there are NO state or government hypnotism or hypnotherapy certification agencies in America. "Certification" is an entirely voluntary process some seek to give an aura of confidence to their credentials. Many certification entities exist that have official sounding names which leads some to believe they are government agencies; they are not. Currently, NO American university or college offers an accredited degree in this field and only the State of Indiana requires hypnotherapists to be licensed. In other words, there simply aren’t yet any nationally accredited college- or university-level degree programs in hypnotism or hypnotherapy in the USA. So, buyer beware.
